Winter Harvest Delights: JETRO & SENDO ICHI's Japanese Seafood Fest 2024 Takes Kuala Lumpur by Storm
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - January 26, 2024: In a celebration of culinary excellence and cultural fusion, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Sendo Ichi Seafood proudly present the inaugural Japanese Seafood Fest 2024, an event set to tantalize the taste buds of Malaysians with the finest treasures from Japan's seas.
The official media launch, held recently in Kuala Lumpur,
witnessed Koichi Takano, Managing Director of JETRO Kuala Lumpur, underlining
the festival's importance in strengthening cultural and business ties between
Japan and Malaysia. Takano expressed gratitude for the growing recognition and
appreciation of Japanese food in Malaysia, with food exports from Japan to
Malaysia having tripled over the past five years.
I invite everyone to relish the exquisite Japanese seafood on offer, fostering a newfound appreciation for the quality and taste that only Japanese food can bring,
stated Takano, encouraging attendees
to continue their culinary journey at renowned establishments like Sushi Yoshi,
HUT Sake Bar, and Ten Itsu. For those who prefer the comfort of home, premium
Japanese seafood is readily available at retail stores like Mochiya Fine Food
Store.
The festival kicked off with a grand launch featuring the
carving of a 60 kg live tuna by renowned chef Otsuka Kenji of Sushi Yoshi.
Guests and VIPs were treated to an exquisite sashimi delight, savoring the
freshness and exceptional taste of Japan's harvest.
Aldred Yaw, General Manager of Sendo Ichi Malaysia,
highlighted the festival's significance, serving as a platform to introduce and
highlight the excellence of fresh, sustainable seafood directly imported from
Japan. Yaw emphasized Sendo Ichi's commitment to the core principle of
"freshness first" and ethical sourcing, delivering the freshest,
highest quality food to health-conscious consumers.
Collaborating with top Japanese restaurants such as Sushi
Yoshi, HUT Sake Bar, Ten Itsu, and Mochiya, the Japanese Seafood Fest aims to
connect the artistry of Japanese gastronomy with culinary enthusiasts.
Attendees can learn the craft of delightful handrolls, turning the festival
into a feast for both the eyes and the stomach.
As part of the interactive experience, festival-goers can
explore Japan's harvest, test their knowledge in a quiz, and be rewarded with
samples of Maguro (Bluefin Tuna), Kaki (Oyster), Hotate (Scallop), Saba
(Mackerel), and Hamachi (Yellowtail). To cap off the culinary adventure,
visitors are encouraged to try on a "yukata" to commemorate the
occasion.
Foodies and visitors are invited to register for the event
to receive a RM20 cash voucher from Mochiya. The Japanese Seafood Fest 2024
will take place from January 26th to 28th, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at
WOW Plaza (South Entrance), Lalaport, Bukit Bintang City Centre.
